West Ham’s Sébastien Haller is being linked with a shooking switch to Ajax for a cut-price of €25 million.

West Ham have enjoyed a bit of a good spell this season but one player who hasn’t enjoyed it with them or even most of his time at the club is Sébastien Haller. The Hammers currently sit in 10th place in the Premier League standings.

His big-money move of €45m from Eintracht Frankfurt to West London hasn’t really hit the heights it was expected to. Because of him being unable to replicate the fine form that saw him as one of the most coveted forwards from the Bundesliga back in 2018/19, he could be looking for a way out of the Premier League club.

The club who are ready to make a surprise approach for Haller is Dutch giants, Ajax Amsterdam. They are said to be ready to pay less than half of what West Ham paid for him in 2019. The amount of €25 million is the rumoured starting bid.

"L’Équipe report that Franco-Ivorian attacker and 26-year-old Sébastien Haller is going to make a surprising switch from Premier League side West Ham United to Dutch giants Ajax.Haller joined The Hammers in summer 2019 for around €45m, but the former French youth international is now going to make the switch to the Netherlands for €25m. L’Équipe further stated that the West London club is ready to offload the forward and want to wrap up negotiations quickly.

In the next 24 hours, the transfer situation could become a lot clearer and we will have a better idea of where the Ivorian will be after the January window shuts.

"West Ham striker Sébastien Haller is expected to engage quickly with Ajax Amsterdam.he former French International Espoirs, author of 3 goals in 16 matches this season, should engage in the coming hours with Ajax Amsterdam. In the form of a transfer for an amount of some 25 million euros. Sébastien Haller’s time at West Ham has left many question marks over the fee paid for him. Was he worth it? Was he the right choice for them at the time and for that amount of money? Etc.

From pitching in with 15 goals and nine assists in Germany’s top flight the season before moving over to England, he now struggles to hit that target of 15 over the course of two seasons. In 48 EPL games, he has only scored 10 and assisted another one. This has left David Moyes with no other choice but to sell.

Adding to this, Sébastien is so out of favour at West Ham with the boss preferring to go with a make-shift striker to lead the line in Michail Antonio. Including last season, this is the first time in five seasons he has failed to hit double figures in his goal contribution.

If he does transfer to the Johan Cruijff ArenA, it will be his second spell in the Dutch Eredivisie. In his three-season run, he scored 41 goals and assisted 12 in 82 Eredivisie appearances, having a goal contribution of 53 goals for FC Utrecht. What an amazing return for him.

Should Sébastien Haller get more time? Or should David Moyes cash in and go for a player more suited to his style of play?
