Arsenal’s poor start to their Premier League campaign has seen them name three signings as a priority when we hit the winter transfer window.

Mikel Arteta‘s first full season in charge at the Emirates is one he would want to forget quickly. From the early hype of their FA Cup and FA Community Shield triumph to lagging behind their counterparts in the Premier League standings.

It is easy to assume, things are just not working out for the Spaniard. A lack of creativity to their star strikers not hitting the back of the net consistently enough, sees them achieve a 15th place standing after four wins, one draw, and six losses.

They’ve now only collected 13 points from the 33 they’ve played for. Their most recent loss in the North London derby showcased exactly why they are in need of more business when we hit January. Here are the three main targets for Arsenal this winter.

Houssem Aouar

More from Arsenal

Houssem Aouar appeared close to joining Arsenal in the summer transfer window before the Gunners turned their attention to Thomas Partey.

However, the Gunners were unable to cough up the challenging price of £55.5 million in an attempt to sign both midfielders, who were regarded as priorities back then.

According to L’Equipe, Aouar was now ready for a Ligue 1 exit before the end of the season. The 22-year-old’s relationship with Olympique Lyonnais hierarchy is already under strain following a clash earlier in November.

The midfielder was reportedly dropped from Lyon’s squad for refusing to train. In Lyon’s 1-0 victory over Angers, Aouar was said to be dissatisfied with being an unused replacement.

In effect, the France international has apparently failed to join up with his teammates in the post-game warm up. But SunSport previously reported Mikel Arteta is expected to launch another bid to sign Aouar after falling short this year.

Dominik Szoboszlai

One of the most famous players in Europe at the moment is Szoboszlai. The 20-year-old has already led his squad to Euro 2020 and is expected either by January or next season, to transfer from RB Salzburg.

Fabrizio Romano stated in a podcast recently that Arsenal is a long-lasting admirer of RB Salzburg’s Dominik Szoboszlai. They didn’t make a move at this point and are yet to launch any official offer for the Hungarian wonderkid.

The player likes the Premier League though and Arsenal is searching for a player like Szoboszlai or Houssem Aouar to sign. “Arsenal been watching Szoboszlai for years” So we can assume that the Gunners want the player.

But let’s see what Arsenal is determining. Many reports believe Arsenal is seeking to sign a player of this kind. They looked at Houssem Aouar, now they think Szoboszlai is the right player for the club.

Atto Abbas

Fabrizio Romano confirmed recent rumors that Arsenal are eyeing up a move for Atto Abbas. The North Londoners are said to be ready to make a move for the Nigerian forward in January according to fanatic while Aspor reported that Atto has been on Arsenal’s watchlist for a couple of months.

The Kasimpasa wonderkid is comfortable playing as a winger and central midfield. Fabrizio hinted ”that the boy has great potential because he possesses brilliant footwork, great thinking on the ball, pace and agility”.

Kasimpasa has been saying that the player’s preparation of his paperwork is also underway. Arsenal’s serious interest could depend on Kasimpasa’s readiness to let him go.

Who do you think the Gunners will target for a January move out of the three players mentioned above?
