Tottenham held positive talks with Inter over Milan Škriniar transfer
Spurs are negotiating with Inter Milan over another exchange and this time its defender Milan Škriniar.
Jose Mourinho and his Spurs side have enjoyed a positive lift in the club after welcoming two new faces, making it a quaternity of summer signings arriving at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Yet, the Noth London club is not ready to rest there and are close to bringing in Milan Škriniar from Inter. The Portuguese boss is far from satisfied with his four additions. He has always spoken of having a backup to Harry Kane and adding depth to the middle of the park, as well as create competition at the back, hence the player in discussion.
The two European clubs have built a strong relationship and have done deals in good faith. After selling Christian Eriksen to the Serie A side, it’s been nothing but smooth sailing from Milan to London. Nonetheless, the duo have hit a stumbling block over the transfer of Škriniar.

Inter Milan wants no lower than €60 million for the centre back and have been asking for this sum throughout the transfer window. And by now they must know Daniel Levy and how does his business. They will not get that and he is going to come in with a much a lower offering.
They want to go no higher than €50m and could see them accept this offer with a few add-ons included in the sale. Since the reports, nothing new has come forward except for reports of positive talks taking place and are ongoing. The head of recruitment, Steve Hitchen, was pictured in Milan looking to sign this deal off.
Spurs have improved their form since their opening-day loss against Everton. They are yet to lose or drop points and have won all their encounters across all competitions. Recently, they have beaten Macedonian outfit, KF Shkëndija 3-1 to progress to the playoffs of the Europa League.
The worrying stat despite winning them all is that they have conceded in every game, including their Everton defeat. They have let in five goals over the span of four games but have managed to outscore their opponents in each of them. Jose’s cry for a CB is a justified one when taking this into account.
If they are to compete for a top-four spot while having a successful run in the Europa League, considering they win their playoff fixture against Maccabi Haifa, Spurs need to wrap up a centre-back deal quickly and plug those holes at the back.
Man United was the first of the Premier League clubs linked to the Slovak international but has since withdrawn their interest in him. This leaves the door wide open for Spurs to sign a top target.
