Playing on the left flank, Lingard troubled the opposition defense. Adding to his display, he drew two fouls, made one tackle, and an interception. Sadly, he wasn’t able to find the back of the net on the night.

Even though the attacking midfielder had a good game, it might not be enough for him to salvage his Old Trafford career. Moreover, the recent reports of Jose Mourinho’s interest in signing his old player.

Dele Alli might be on the verge of leaving Tottenham Hotspur for the French champions PSG, which would leave Mourinho without an attacking midfielder in his squad.

The well-known strong bond between the player and manager could have made the deal happen. However, Jose Mourinho quashed the reunion with his former player.
