Set Thiago free – Bayern Munich ask Liverpool to up their bid to €35m
The amount of about 5 million still separates Liverpool and Bayern Munich from agreeing on a Thiago Alcântara transfer.
Liverpool have made quite the advance in the pursuit of Bayern Munich’s world-class midfielder, Thiago Alcântara. As per now and was for a long while, the player has agreed to personal terms with the same stumbling block the size of €5 million remaining to overcome.
This time though it is said a bid has been submitted by the Reds. They have offered the Bundesliga champions €30 million which was denied and are expecting €35 million, continuing to say they will not be entertained by any of this nonsense about added-on bonuses.
This does display that the Anfield side is eager to add him to the roster before the summer window closes. Having only valued him at €25m earlier in the month but bidding a higher five now shows it is time to do business.
Jurgen wants to take this side to the next level and the Spaniard will certainly be the man to do so. It is not being said if Liverpool will come in with a better offer immediately, but having already agreed to personal terms and a three-year deal with the majestic midfield maestro, we can only expect them to come back in and meet the demands.
The two clubs are still in discussion though, while the player enjoys an extended break with is family. Munich’s manager Hansi Flick made it clear his plans at the Allianz Arena included the treble winner.

Ex-EPL rivals agree on Thiago’s distinction
Both United legend Gary Neville and Liverpool legend Jamie Redknapp agree on one thing, Thiago has the quality to upgrade and unlock a new level at Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp.
Neville went as far as saying his club should be trying their best to secure the deal and highjack the potential transfer, stopping him from heading over to Merseyside. He believes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is need of his qualities at Old Trafford.
Adding to Redknapp’s statement, he is confident the champions will get their man and main target of the summer. Joining them and also having a word on the matter was other ex-Red Dietmar Hamann, who concurred with both Englishmen.
He also believes his old team will tie up the deal for the world-class player.
