Attack 29%
Defence 7%

Can Fulham do a better job than last time? It surely can’t be much worse! They came up in 2017/18, spent a lot of money and sidelined or got rid of a lot of the players who had brought them up, then promptly became the league whipping boys and went straight back down.

Scott Parker will be more sensible than that, and if he can keep the defence tight they may just have a chance. Luckily the opening games will give them that chance as they face Leeds, Villa, Sheffield United and Crystal Palace in the opening 6 weeks!

Main Pick

Aleksandar Mitrovic (FWD, 6.0m)

I pointed out the defence in my intro because I’m less worried about their attack, and this man is why. Mitrovic was a great FPL pick in 2018/19 and I was surprised not to see him snapped up by another team when Fulham went down. He scored 11 goals and got 12 bonus points, not bad when playing in one of the worst Premier League teams ever.

Differential Pick

Ivan Cavaleiro (MID, 5.5m)

More from The Top Flight

The Portuguese winger was another key asset in Fulham’s promotion push. He got 6 goals and 7 assists which is not a bad return at all! He has played in the Premier League previously with Wolves, managing 3 goals despite very few starts. Hopefully, this season he’ll get more of a chance!

Defensive Pick

Joe Bryan (DEF, 5.0m)

If he hadn’t scored twice in the playoff final to get Fulham here, maybe the price would be a bit kinder. Five million is a lot for a promoted defender, but he is coming up off the back of a strong season with 3 goals and 7 assists (not including the playoffs) and should be able to generate some decent attacking returns. If Parker can keep them tight at the back as well then Bryan will be a great pick.

Steer Clear

Mario Lemina (MID, 4.5m)

He must be one of Fulham’s most owned players just because he is cheap. There can be no other reason. Lemina spent a couple of seasons at Southampton, where he picked up more yellow cards than goals or assists, then went to Galatasaray where that trend continued.

His worth for FPL lies in the help he will provide to the defence, hopefully making Fulham a defensive option for our squads.
