Is Sergio Reguilon needed at Manchester United amid transfer links
By Varun Aithal
Compared to the fullbacks at Man United, the Spanish defender has fared better.
On the defensive front, Sergio Reguilon is a much better player than United’s fullbacks. The Spanish defender has accounted for 57 tackles whereas Luke has only managed 34 tackles throughout the season.
The left back is also a better player in attack as he has 0.22 G+A contributions for Sevilla, with Shaw having nothing but a zero. However, one should not forget that the Old Trafford club plays conservative fullbacks compared to that of Jurgen Klopp’s attacking and overlapping fullbacks.

Williams came under scrutiny in his breakthrough season as he failed to provide any substantial input to the attack, neither helping the defense at the end of the season as mentioned previously. He was also one of the players blamed for the Red Devils’ loss against Sevilla in the Europa League semifinals.
If the club were to sign Reguilon would it affect William’s progress? It wouldn’t affect the progress of the 20-year-old who recently just signed a four-year contract with the club. Rather, it would provide the much-required competition to the former Southampton defender and relieve him of his duties on various occasions.
