Fantasy Premier League 2021 Preview of 9th to 12th place
Everton
Fixtures
Attack 39%
Defence 29%
Not an easy start for Everton’s attack but the defence could be promising. It’s a shame there aren’t many great bargains to be had with FPL towers holding on to the Everton of old that would sit happily just beneath the top table, rather than the muddled mess we have seen for the last couple of years.
Hopefully, Ancelotti will continue to fix them up, and the transfer rumours surrounding them could provide interesting FPL options, but we’ll have to look into those another time (once they do materialise).

Dominic Calvert-Lewin (FWD, 7.0m)
I’d like to start by saying this is in no way an endorsement of buying DCL straight away. He had a good run under Ancelotti when he first took over from Silva but struggled to keep it up and registered no goals or assists after Project Restart!
However, with Sigurdsson a shadow of the FPL player we knew and loved, and Richarlison being reclassified as a forward, DCL is probably the best option. It says a lot about Everton right now.
Differential (and Defensive) Pick
Lucas Digne (DEF, 6.0m)
This is, admittedly, a lot to spend on a defender in a side that kept 9 clean sheets last year. However, Digne is all about the attacking returns.
After lockdown, he was only behind the Liverpool fullbacks for chances created, and across the season he was only beaten by TAA. If he had more reliable strikers in front of him he could easily have notched a lot more than the 8 assists he managed last season.
Steer Clear
Richarlison (FWD, 8.0m)
As I mentioned before, Richarlison was reclassified this summer as a forward, and also kept at 8.0m. Bearing in mind his points tally last year would have been a lot less if he had been a forward, 8.0m seems like a lot to me when there are options such as Ings and Jimenez for just 0.5m more.
Maybe he will kick on under Ancelotti, but he has always been too inconsistent for my liking and this seems like too much to pay for the Brazilian.
