Not stopping at Gabriel Magalhaes, the Gunners are still being linked with a multitude of moves in the transfer market.

It appears Arsenal are making the best of the weeks that are left to do business. After just announcing the arrival of their second incoming, Gabriel Magalhaes, they are now being linked with a move for Lyon’s most wanted midfielder, Houssem Aouar.

The midfielder enjoyed a valiant Champion League run with the French side beating Juventus and Manchester City on their way to a semi-final exit against the team who eventually went on to win it, Bayern Munich.

The Frenchman has enjoyed a great return in his four seasons in Ligue 1. In his 97 top flight appearances, he has 16 goals and has 15 assists. Arsenal could use more goals from the midfield and Aourar is the right link to achieve this feature.

Adding to the Aouar links, the North London club are still locked in negotiations over the potential transfer of Thomas Partey. But they will have to offload in order to make space for these possible transfers. So far Hector Bellerin and Sokratis Papastathopoulos are the first to be excluded from the new plans.

Citing David Ornstein, Mikel Arteta has decided against Ainsley Maitland-Niles leaving the club, offering him a more senior and regular role in the team. All that he wanted.

His performance on Saturday past was worth a rethink from the manager. Sadly, Bellerin has always been on his way out thanks to continuous time spent on the sideline.

The manager is not willing to risk the chance of having an asset on the bench due to injury. Maitland-Niles has shown he has what it takes in defence and attack. This season could potentially be a breakthrough campaign for the versatile player. If he works, it is a win-win situation for Arteta.

Preparations at the Emirates are developing nicely under the Spaniard. If they are to capture their final two targets of Thomas Partey and Houssem Aouar, this would be considered a fantastic summer window.
