Arsenal is adding quality to the squad and doing their business much better this transfer window.

For a team struggling with funds, the transfer kitty appears to be open for transactions. Two new men heavier after confirming the switch of Willan from Chelsea and now, one of the more important pieces of business, the singing of Gabriel Magalhaes.

The player joins from Lille after passing his medical with the London club, costing the Gunners a small fee of £25 million (while others suggest it is £27m) and has signed a five-year deal. The defender is said to have chosen the Emirates as the place to be over rivals Manchester United, as well as Italian side Napoli.

Ole’s board made a late enquiry to Lille about the player, trying to highjack the move altogether. However, it appears the forces of the Brazilian seduction of both Willan and David Luiz was too much to resist for Gabriel.

The player made his decision known quite early during negotiations, that Arsenal will be his new club stopping all other pursuits from across Europe. The announcement video released by the North Londoners is top draw stuff! Luiz welcoming his countrymen to the team in a video chat, discussing the plan ahead… To win trophies!

The “Brazilian family” is getting bigger at the Emirates!

Working at the back is where Mikel Arteta and the club needed to do their most significant business. A poor defensive game cost them many points, as well as a spot in the top six and top four, where they aim to land consistently.

In their FA Community Shield victory where they beat Liverpool on penalties Saturday past, they displayed their inability to see out 1-0 ballgame. Something that must be achievable for any team pushing for any sort of silverware.

Arteta’s plan is taking shape with each passing game and confirmed transfer. As per many reports, the club is far from done and business can not only involve players coming but also players on their way out.

The club is said to be in negotiations with Atletico Madrid for the signing of midfielder Thomas Partey. And on his way out after agreeing to a deal with Napoli to replace the outgoing and Manchester-bound, Kalidou Koulibaly, is Sokratis Papastathopoulos.
