Post-pandemic has brought out the best in Chelsea’s transfer business as they rack in new signings nearly by the day.

It has most certainly left a sour taste in the mouths of Man United fans as they watch all their counterparts make moves in the transfer window while they “continue negotiations”. In fact, it has left tears in the eyes of most of us taking a front-row seat in the Chelsea summer show.

On Wednesday the Blues completed arguably the most important signing to Frank Lampard, in possibly one of the most pressing areas in defence. If/when they are to complete the transfer of Thiago Silva and a goalkeeper signing, this would be a considered the perfect window.

That’s including the surprising transfer of free agent Malang Sarr, who ended his run with Nice and the pending deal of Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen. Once all their business is completed, they will be expected to challenging on all fronts.

More from Chelsea

The club’s latest addition cost them £50 million according to reports. He will earn £190-per-week, expressing how desired he is by Frank and Chelsea. His huge salary is a dead giveaway that he will walk straight into the starting lineup.

He is everything the Blues boss wants in a left back. He attacks with purpose, defends with heart, and plays some good football when the balls at his feet. He is certainly happy that he has joined the exciting project at Stamford Bridge.

Participating in the jubilation are the rest of the Chelsea players and his new squad members. They are absolutely chuffed about him joining them in the dressing room for now and many seasons to come.

Blues’ wonder Mason Mount popped a joke, “No need to be fouling me now Benjamin… Welcome bro!”, Pretty excited he has Chilwell on his team and not taking him out on the pitch. The next player was their top scorer of last season, Tammy Abrahams.

He is surely loving the transfer news. I guess as long as it’s not a player taking your position, you are always happy to welcome top talents, especially if they are international teammates. In love emojis, blue hearts, the whole nine yards when Tammy commented on the news.

Think the striker also meant “house-hunting” and not “house haunting”. Don’t think the two are joining the Ghostbusters and this is some cryptic tweet for a secret meeting somewhere later.

On the departing end of things

The Leicester City fans plus his best mate James Maddison are feeling the pain. They know they lost a gem way too early at 23-years-old, and must now find a suitable replacement in due time. If only they managed to achieve a Champions League spot for the season ahead… Oh, what could have been!

As the saying goes… One man’s pain is another man’s pleasure. Always the case in football. Thankfully, a cheer might appear for all Foxes, as the club shortlists a number of suitors to fill in the void left by Ben Chilwell.

AS Monaco’s Fode Ballo-Toure is one of the names being mentioned and Ajax left back Nicolas Tagliafico is the other. However, it looks as if the long-term replacement will be young 19-year-old Luke Thomas, who is already at the club and has just penned a new deal with the King Power side.
