The trimming of the Gunners camp began when Mikel Arteta walked through the doors and accepted the job as manager.
A shocker? Yes, quite frankly one of the biggest this window. Why? Well, purely based on the importance of Hector Bellerin and his footballing talents. Of the lot at the Emirates, the Spanish full-back is arguably one of their better defenders.
Only Kieran Tierney could be rated better than the right-back after his breakout campaign and staying fit for a longer period of time. The London club has offered their stand-in captain to Champions League finalist, Paris Saint-Germain.

The Gunners are set to make a defensive addition in the form of Gabriel Magalhaes, who is said to have just completed his medical and will be announced before Friday the end of the week. The deal is in the range of £27 million.
Because they want to add more than a couple of names to the team’s roster before the summer window shut, they need to recuperate some funds. This is the new business mould by a club doing some of the worst business in the past.
This plus the fact they are “struggling” with finances are reasons they must remove a number of players from the wage bill. The Spaniard earns £100k-per-week which amounts to £5,7m a year. He is the club’s fourth-best paid footballer but he stays injured.
This season past was one he enjoyed more with extended minutes on the pitch. This is also the only worry for the Ligue 1 champions, PSG. Afore this and a couple of seasons ago, Bellerin could have made the move of his dreams. He could have joined Barcelona.
Regrettably, the deal fell through due to his injury timing and Barca losing interest in the player. The only benefit coming from Arsenal selling him is the huge salary they save on. Other than that, Hector is quite the asset to Arsenal when he is fit.
If he continues to stay fit he could improve and reach the world-class potential we once saw in his time under Arsene Wenger.
