The embarrassing 8-2 Champions League defeat has one of the biggest clubs in Europe questioning themselves and what the next step is.
Barcelona is thinking ahead, far ahead. The club has come out saying that Liverpool’s manager Jurgen Klopp is the man to take them to where they want to be. Speaking to the press, Jordi Farré a candidate for the presidential election coming up has confirmed the club needs to “regenerate” and the German is the man they see as the future coach.
After just naming Ronald Koeman as the boss a few nights ago, Barca goes and drops the strangest news soon after about Jurgen and wanting him at the helm to sort out all the affairs happening from La Masia to the senior team.
Although, Farré did admit that if the ex-Netherlands coach works out well, they will not just give him the boot the moment Klopp becomes available. They would probably stick with him and work with Koeman till things go south. This does display the club is well aware that change is needed in many areas, including management.
"If Koeman works and does it well, I would, of course. Obviously, we have our roadmap and we had already started several conversations with Jürgen Klopp, because it seems to us that Barça need such a coach."

Jurgen Klopp possibility
The German manager is contracted to Anfield until the year 2024, having recently just penned a new deal with the Merseyside outfit. But adding to his long-term stay, the boss made it clear that at the end of his deal he will part ways with the Anfield club.
Following his forecasted exit, Klopp has spoken about a break from football, citing how much he misses time with the family and feels he is losing out on the most important moments. If this happens to go off like clockwork, Barca might have to wait till 2025/26 if they the want the same long-term success Liverpool has seen over the past couple of years.
Would Klopp take on a project as gigantic as Barcelona? Yes, he would. Quite frankly, he’d do a pretty good job of taking them back to the top. Money spent at will in the market, plus the God-given talent to bring out the best in any player and the eye to identify what a team needs to succeed is surely a recipe that would see the club rise from the ashes.
"Barcelona presidential candidate Jordi Farre has claimed that he has laid the foundations to appoint Jurgen Klopp as manager in the future. The Catalan club are set to hold elections in March next year, with Josep Maria Bartomeu coming to the end of his second term at the helm.Farre is hoping to be elected and sees Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp as a potential solution to Barcelona’s problems. This is the second member from Anfield that the Catalan club has been linked within one week. Once elections for a new club president has passed and Josep Maria Bartomeu has completed his double term, plans for Barca will be a lot clearer.
Klopp is definitely a move that will not happen now, but if talks have been happening with the Premier League winning manager and Spanish outfit, we can expect something to transpire sometime in the late future.
