Manchester United: Sancho talks his future amid speculation on Old Trafford move
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is determined to bolster Manchester United’s attack this summer.
Jadon Sancho, in the midst of intense speculation over his future at Borussia Dortmund, has addressed the rumours linking him with a move to Manchester United. The England international has clarified that his priorities are to improve his on-pitch performances.
Sancho, 20, has garnered concrete interest from Manchester United as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer envisages the English prodigy as the missing piece in the attacking jigsaw to forge a lethal forward trio comprising of him, Anthony Martial, and Marcus Rashford, at Old Trafford.
Priced at €120million, Borussia Dortmund have retracted Sancho from the transfer list and are not willing to listen to any offers for the Englishman, as no formal proposal had arrived at their table before the August 10 “deadline”.
The German side is in a strong position to retain the services of Jadon Sancho for at least one season, with the contract running till June 2023, having extended the agreement by a further 12 months last summer.
Yet, it is understood that the dialogues are still progressing between the clubs over a prospective deal for one of Europe’s hottest prospects. In his 78 Bundesliga appearances, Sancho has managed 30 goals and 38 assists for Die Schwarzgelben.

Regarding his future, Sancho said:
"I try not to look at the media because I think once you start looking at all that it would be easy to get carried away with it.It can affect players. For me, it’s about not looking at those things and just focusing on trying to do the best I can on the pitch. Especially in training. For me, it’s about improving every single day. It’s important for me to keep a smile on my face and keep happy.I don’t really look at all the noise and all that stuff. I’d rather keep my head down, keep focus and improve every day."
Regardless of Sancho being the club’s top priority, Man United are looking at alternative targets, too. Most recently, the Red Devils have been heavily linked with Douglas Costa.
David Brooks, AFC Bournemouth midfielder, is also rumoured to be on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s radar. However, the Wales international could be a vital midfield addition rather than a proxy for Jadon Sancho.
