Spurs are enjoying a busy period in the transfer market thus far.

Despite a demotion to the Europa League next season, Tottenham Hotspur faithful is fairly satisfied with the outcome, which has had its fair share of drama and disappointment.

Under Jose Mourinho, chairman Daniel Levy is hoping to watch a new Tottenham side develop and take the final step towards lifting trophies, which remain eluded under the remarkable era of Mauricio Pochettino.

In the midst of a minor rebuild, the transfer plan is set out to Levy via Mourinho, with an objective of finishing the deals at the earliest, citing a jam-packed run of fixtures arriving in a few weeks time. Thus far, Spurs have completed two major deals in Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg and Joe Hart.

By the looks of it, Tanguy Ndombele is set for a premature exit from Tottenham, as the French midfielder’s relationship with Jose Mourinho seems to have broken beyond repair. Unfortunately, the Lilywhites’ record signing worth £55 million is set to leave the club after a single season.

Knowing Daniel Levy’s excruciating negotiation tactics, the potential buyer would have to offer fees in the region of what Tottenham paid Lyon for the services of Tanguy Ndombele. With Inter Milan knocking on the door, a prospective swap deal involving Milan Skriniar, admired by Mourinho, is on the horizon.

The hallmark of Jose Mourinho’s successful sides has been a solid defensive midfielder, in the ilk of Claude Makele, Michael Essien, or Nemanja Matic, who sniff danger, hold the shape and recycle possession efficiently.

In addition, the price bracket of €15m to €20m aligns with the threshold of spending on a single transfer set by Daniel Levy this summer.
