Liverpool complete their first piece of business for the summer
A wrapped up Premier League calls for the business end of football and the reopening of the transfer window.
The champions Liverpool are off the mark in the transfer market and have parted ways with the six-year patron Dejan Lovren. All-in-all, the player will bring to an end a seven-year spell in the English Premier League.
As per news outlets, he will join Russia Premier League champions, Zenit St Petersburg, for a fee of £10.9 million. The Top Flight recently reported the news just before the weekend and ahead of the final fixture in the EPL that took place on Sunday.

Never did we expect the deal to happen this fast. However, when the Reds are sure about a transfer, they make sure extremely early in the window that they tie up the business, whether it be incomings or outgoings.
"Dejan Lovren has left Liverpool to sign for Russian side Zenit St Petersburg. The 31-year-old Croatian defender has signed a three-year deal for a fee in the region of €12 million (£10.9m/$9.4m), bringing to an end his six-year spell at Anfield. (Via: Goal.com)"
A Premier League champion
It was not an easy ride for Lovren following his move from Southampton for a total of £20m, a price that was considered too high at the time. He was only one season in the Premier League before Liverpool snapped him up.
The 31-year-old went on and made a fairly decent number of appearances in his six-year haul. He featured 181 times, starting 166 of those features. In his Anfield living, he chipped in with eight goals and four assists. His most recent assist was a beauty where he put the ball on a platter for Divock Origi to score against hometown rivals, Everton, that ultimately cost Marco Silva his post at Goodison Park.
The dark days use to come thick and fast, and last long for Dejan. In his defensive duties, he was known for having a costly error in him. The style of play required them to play out from the back, something he struggled with tirelessly.
In his Premier League run with the Reds he accomplished 87 wins, 36 losses, kept 53 clean sheets and conceded as many as 162 goals. Coupled with this was his six errors leading to goals in times the Reds needed a defensive hero, which he was far from at the time when Liverpool collectively struggled to keep from conceding.
He will be thankful the pressure will be a lot less while still playing at the highest level. It was great timing for all involved. He got to enjoy the bad times, the changeover, and the success of the club in their most recent times.
Goodbye Dejan Lovren and good luck!
