Premier League preparations for the final day of English football
The longest campaign witnessed to man will be drawing to a close and we look at what we can expect on the final day of English football.
The Premier League closely resembled a marathon, a triathlon, and an endurance race of 1,000 kilometres this season. Two breaks, one intended and the other a forced interval. It was a long wait before we eventually reached Matchday 38.
How to feel about it? Well, any day is a sad day when the league campaign concludes. On the other hand, a break from the rapid influx of fixtures after a long layoff comes to a stop. It was hard to keep up and keep the ones you love happy at home all at the same time.
Final day fixtures not so important

What’s going on for the final day
As things stand, the Premier League title is and was decided almost as far back as January. But it was only just Wednesday past that Liverpool got to enjoy their first-ever Premier League title lift. Following far behind them is Man City, who has nothing left to play for but must start prepping for the one thing they want most, the Champions League coming in August.
Then comes the more important bits on the day, the race for last two available Champions League slots and the fight for top-flight survival. These two battles have never disappointed in the past and appear to be the best watch of the season.
Exciting factors of the final day
Top-four fight
Man United’s direct duel with Leicester City for a European spot takes centre stage. A loss for Ole will derail his plans and next phase for next season. If the Foxes fail and end in fifth place, it would go down as the worst ending to a campaign, and we will finally declare Rodgers as the biggest chocker of this decade.

Then there is Wolves and Chelsea, who both have their own reasons for wanting three points, which is a must for both English competitors. Chelsea’s performances deserve a top-four finish, but their quality at the back doesn’t. Wolves have a lot to concentrate on from here on out UEL fixtures on the horizon. This could turn out to be the match of the day.
Spurs and Sheffield play for that final Europa League spot (also dependant on the FA Cup result). They go up against Crystal Palace and Southampton, respectively. We should see full-strength starting XIs for all of these clubs.
Relegation battle
Like on top it is at the bottom, two slots left to fill. All of, Aston Villa, Bournemouth, and Watford can still get demoted if they lose. Only three points seperate these clubs, with it looking more likely that goal-difference will come into play after 90 minutes of football has been completed.

Arsenal vs. Watford
Everton vs. Bournemouth
The most entertaining factor of the final day
The most entertaining factor of them all, getting to see some of the young bloods take to the pitch for clubs not needing a win. Clubs such as Liverpool, Man City, and Southampton are just a few clubs that have nothing to play for on the day, except for having fun.
The final day of English top-flight football promises to be one to remember and mostly entertaining.
