The transfer saga for one of Germany’s hottest talents is heating up and getting closer to being sorted out with recent developments.

Reports have been consistent and fast flowing out of Germany from the Bayer Leverkusen sector. Since July 20 or even before, it was believed and widely reported that Kai Havertz and Chelsea have agreed on personal terms.

Subsequently, it was stated the player was waiting for club training for him to be able to clear the air and plea with them to make the move to Stamford Bridge possible. This holds enough evidence that the move is edging closer to being completed with the two clubs only having to agree on his fee.

The club appears to have no problem with him moving to London but they must cough up the €100 million they want for the star attacker. This is way more than the Chelsea board wanted to spend, taking into account the situation for all clubs following the pandemic, and how many more transfer they want to get over the line.

This coupled with the fact Beyer missed out on Champions League football next season, they were hoping the asking price for Havertz would drop significantly. On the end of the transfer, this could be the sole reason Leverkusen will want to stand fast on their evaluation. They want to recover enough funds in order to replace and survive for the following campaign.

A Kai Havertz deal will be struck very soon

You can certainly see nothing less than a Havertz-Chelsea transfer happening. It’s no longer a matter of if but only when. His current owners now know how badly he wants out, and know clubs could struggle to meet what we can consider as a huge demand now post COVID-19. They will allow for a structured deal to take place.

More from Chelsea

As per Fabrizio Romano, the Stamford Bridge hierarchy will work out their final budget for the remaining transfers needed before shutting down their own transfer window. This must all be solved before getting down to business on the training pitch to get ready for the new season ahead.

The German outfit attempted to start a bidding war for Havertz, knowing the world wants him. Although, it doesn’t suit the financial restraints of many of the top clubs in the market for him. Therefore, if they want what they are asking for they need to make special arrangements with the Blues.

They are the only runners in for him with all of their Kai competitors pulling out of the race due to heavy the financial limitations so often mentioned. Chelsea will be more than willing to make payment arrangements, as they seek to secure more targets needed to complete Lampard’s next phase.
