Not one person deserves this more than Jordan Henderson. The first Liverpool captain to lift the English Premier League trophy after 30 years of near misses.

He has always been doubted but he has never given up. Jordan Henderson has become the heart, body, and soul of the club, embodying exactly what it to bleed red for the love of Anfield. Klopp’s enthusiasm has been equally and emphatically transferred onto the pitch by the Liverpool skipper.

Passion, energy, drive, and the mentality to never back down, plus the desire to fight until the end has all been displayed inside this one player’s attitude. He shares and shows exactly what the manager expects from each Red on the pitch. This is precisely the reason why Henderson has deservingly received The Anfield Wrap’s ‘Embodiment of Liverpool FC’ award for 2020.

Henderson deserves respect!

More from Liverpool FC

Of the lot around since Sir Kenny Dalglish’s days as the manager of the club, Henderson has been the only one consistent, despite changing managers a couple of times. I along with many are surprised to see the Englishman still at the club, but our problem was always comparing his talent to Steven Gerrard and not the size of his heart, which is the size of Anfield Stadium.

He has always wanted to achieve amazing things with the club after his move from Sunderland for £20 million back in 2011. It was a move we thought was too highly-priced, with some wanting the club to improve in other areas.

Looking back on that day, it now forms part of some of Liverpool’s best business performed in the past decade. From Dalglish to Rodgers, and then Jurgen Klopp, they have always utilised his services on the field. Probably one of the first names on the team sheet for all of these men.

Without him, the team has struggled

How bad have things really been without Henderson on the pitch? It’s simply been terrible without the captain. He was missing for the first loss against Watford for 3-0, just afore the pandemic struck. Ahead of that clash, taken off in their first-leg defeat to Atletico Madrid, where it literally all fell apart for the club.

Since the return of English football, Hendo was lost to injury during their Brighton victory, The captain was listed as sidelined for the rest of the restart. The boys are yet to win following his absence.

Must Read. Have Liverpool found a suitable transfer?. light

Not easy on the eye. Doesn’t have the flair of Firmino. Yet the one thing he can do is lead like a lion. Congratulations Jordan Henderson on the first of many awards. Coming up after Chelsea? The Hendo shuffle with the Premier League trophy.

Should the captain be named the player of the season?
