The Premier League is helping to make the trophy handover little more extraordinary for the Reds.

Wednesday night the champions of England will welcome Chelsea to Anfield where they will receive a front-row seat to their Premier League winning celebrations while the prizewinners get “special treatment”.

Following the global pandemic, football has been played without the beloved fans. Stadiums have been empty, filled only with a handful of media, staff, and massive advertising banners. Those required for the show to continue is all that was needed post-COVID-19.

Therefore, the Merseysiders being allowed their family members is a beautiful gesture and a touch of class from the EPL heads, something we must regard as “Champions delight”. Many would be against it and the idea of it, but those are obviously the losers this season.

If you want the same allowance as winning an immunity challenge or food challenge on the Survivor series, then your club needs to win the Premier League. Then only will they get the first-class treatment as the Reds are getting at Anfield Stadium this week.

Chelsea meeting

More from Liverpool FC

Liverpool had a break after their opponents for the weekend’s past matchday took part in the FA Cup semi-final. They will be on a massive high after knocking out foes to both of them, none other than Manchester United. The Reds are returning off the back of a disappointing showing at the Emirates last time out.

They must make this distinctive treatment count in their favour having their family in the bleachers of Anfield. They must add to the specialness with a victory and nothing less, as they too in return need to bounce back from the poor form showcased over the restart of English football.

It won’t come easy with Chelsea having more to play for and everything to lose. Still sweating both Leicester and Man United by one point, with the pair sitting below the Blues in fourth and fifth, respectively.

Ironically, the club who handed them their audacious feat of being named Premier League champs after beating Man City 2-1, visits the shores of Merseyside for must grab three points.

Anfield with a difference

The club was said to have built a stage on the famous Kop end of Anfield Stadium. This is an attempt to keep the fans at home, as the clubs fear they will break all social distancing rules… Again. They previously broke every law installed the night they were named kings of England.

Not sure their attempt will work, but it never hurts to try. Some of the seating on the Kop end has been removed for them to build the stage with the trophy podium on it.

There is expected to be some pyrotechnics as well as a special show for the public. Again, to try and keep the fans glued to their seats at home and in front of their teles. We’ve seen Leeds United fans lose it at Elland Road
