The great form of Christian Pulisic since the Premier League’s restart

Assists and Creativity
Pulisic has also been involved in another three goals during the EPL’s Project Restart. With his shifty dribbling and passing, he has caused problems for defenses beyond just his goals.
Starting with his most recent and most conventional assist, Pulisic set Olivier Giroud for the game-winner against Norwich City. It came at the perfect time for the Blues. It was the final minute of stoppage time in the first half where Chelsea dominated possession but struggled to find the breakthrough.
It was a great cross, finding Giroud in the six-yard box despite the Frenchmen being closely marked and having a second defender right in front of him. The game would end 1-0.
The other goals would all come from Pulisic’s dribbling, and the defense being unable to stop him. In just the last seven games, he has drawn two penalties and a freekick that would all be scored by Willian.
Starting with Chelsea’s 3-2 loss to West Ham, Pulisic would draw one of each. Towards the end of the first half, he picked up the ball from Mateo Kovacic, and a quick burst of pace with his second touch saw him fouled by Issa Diop. Willian would score to put Chelsea up 1-0.
Goals either side of halftime put Chelsea down 2-1. Soon after conceding the second, Pulisic picked up the ball in midfield with room to run into.
Another burst of pace saw Declan Rice foul him before he could break into the box. From here, Willian put away the freekick to level the game. The Blues would still lose the game, but not due to the lack of involvement from Pulisic.

In the next game against Watford, he would draw another penalty. He beat his man down the left, and with Étienne Capoue closing him down he attempted to cut back onto his right foot. Capoue would foul him on this move, and Willian would step up to score Chelsea’s second.
He could have won a second penalty late in the game. With Pulisic again bursting into the box, he went down between defenders.
The decision would go to VAR, but ultimately a penalty was not given. It was unfortunate for Pulisic as it looked to be a foul and he would have been the one to step up had it been given.
Willian had already subbed off, and the cameras showed Pulisic grab the ball and wait at the spot during the video review.
