Currently, the Chile international is plying his trade at Inter Milan after securing a temporary move away from Old Trafford last summer.
Alexis Sanchez, who sealed a multi-million move to Manchester United in January 2018, is seeking options away from Old Trafford after failing to make an impact for the Red Devils. United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has no place for Sanchez in his rebuild project after providing ample opportunities to the player to prove his worth.
In his 18-month United spell, the attacker managed a scanty return of five goals and nine assists across all competitions. Considering the superstar status the Chilean possesses, the Norwegian tactician has been ruthless in getting rid of the 31-year-old after reports of a training ground bust-up with teenager Mason Greenwood.
Not only was his performance a reason to worry but Sanchez’s attitude also contributed towards his Manchester United career being curtailed under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Despite earning handsome money at Old Trafford he is being forced to rethink his career options after all of this.
At one point, Solskjaer decided it was better to let the Chilean go and work with young and inexperienced attackers Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, and Mason Greenwood, to share the goalscoring workload. Now, the trident has above 50 goals among themselves, thereby justifying the decision made by the United boss.
Manchester United are keen to sell Alexis Sanchez
In a bid to resurrect his career at Inter Milan, Sanchez suffered another setback by sustaining an injury to his ankle, which required surgery for healing. During this time, former Udinese forward has managed two goals and six assists for the Nerazzurri.
Antonio Conte, despite the lack of game time due to fitness issues, is convinced of the 31-year-old’s abilities and considers him as a vital figure of Inter’s forward line including former Man United teammate, Romelu Lukaku.

To extend Sanchez’s stay at San Siro, Internazionale chiefs negotiated a short-term deal with United counterparts, keeping their number seven until the end of the Serie A campaign, as per our previous report.
However, in our other article, we also stated about La Beneamata’s desire to sign Alexis Sanchez on a permanent basis. However, there are a few more developments in this story.
Firstly, given Sanchez’s exorbitant wages, Inter Milan would like to lure the player on a “dry loan”- a loan deal with no option to buy. However, Manchester United, who are paying a part of the Chilean’s contractual salary, are keen on losing the player’s account from their wage bills on a permanent basis and are not going to entertain any loan offers.
"Red Devils ‘want a definitive transfer’, which leads to the biggest problem of them all: Sánchez’s wages. It could ultimately come down to how badly Sánchez wants to move away from England, and whether he wants to part ways with his considerable wages. (Gazzetta Dello Sport via Sport Witness)"
Despite Sanchez’s excitement to be a part of Antonio Conte’s project at Inter Milan, it would be intriguing to observe whether he is willing to sacrifice a major percentage of his current wages, around 12 million euros per year to continue his Nerazzurri chapter.
