Premier League: Arsenal ready to favour London and Manchester rivals
Arsenal welcomes Leicester City this evening for a chance to have a say in the chase for European football. How will they do?
Man… Would it get me killed for saying Mike Arteta’s Arsenal is the best team walking into this fixture against Leicester? Arteta’s time with the boys, while there was no football, has exposed itself over the last few games since returning to football.
Leicester? Backtracking to winning ways the match prior to this only, proving the lockdown period was not kind to all. What’s unkind to Rodgers and Leicester, they must play the remaining Premier League fixtures looking over their shoulders.

For the Gunners, they contemplate on whether they doing the job not only for three points and a chance to maybe overtake Wolves, depending on the goal difference. But they must think about how their London rivals and United enemy benefit from their success.
The bittersweet feeling when having to do a favour for your foes is a big pill to swallow. However, like every professional says in an interview, “we not worried about helping other teams but worried about what we do ourselves in our own game”. This is the approach they will take.
All Gunners blazing – An Arsenal victory
A Gunners win over the Foxes, and a win for Chelsea in their Palace meeting puts Chelsea in third place, two points ahead of Leicester, leaving Man United close behind. If Ole’s men win their clash on Thursday when they travel to Villa Park and face a struggling Villa side, they go level on points with the Foxes.
The worst feeling of it all, Arsenal is getting no favours from those they help move a step closer to the Champions League dream. That is like a punch in the gut, and you’ve just lost your wind!
Leicester surprise
At this point, Rodgers winning on the road is a weird occurrence. Their last five away games have not seen a Leicester win across all competitions. They’ve now drawn two and lost three. It would be a surprise to see them take all the points at the Emirates, as they did previously at the King Power Stadium.
It’s been tough for the Foxes against the top six but they have shown the most success against the clubs from North London. Tottenham is the only other top side they’ve beaten this season.
Both Manchester clubs and Liverpool have taken Rodgers’ men down. Chelsea came close with two draws. With all being said, Leicester still does possess one of the best-attacking teams outside of the usual top six. So we are in for one of the best encounters for the week and matchday.
