Arsenal could lose not one but two forwards come to the summer transfer window.

Alexandre Lacazette, a goalscorer in Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Wolves the weekend past, could be on his way out. Oh well, could still be on his way out. For consecutive windows, the player has been the subject of a transfer out of the Emirates and nothings appears to be different now.

It is being reported that two European giants have made contact with Gunners’ forward, Alexandre Lacazette. Those two clubs being Serie A leaders, Juventus and Spanish side, Atletico Madrid. The former is a new name being mentioned. The latter, there have been links prior to this one.

More from Arsenal

"L’Équipe report that Juventus and Atletico Madrid have made contact with Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette about a possible summer move.both Atletico Madrid and Juventus have also opened talks to sign the Frenchman. The Spanish side’s interest in Lacazette dates back – in the summer of 2017, Atleti even struck an agreement with Lyon to sign him. However, they were hit with a recruitment ban and eventually watched the French forward go to Arsenal instead. (Via: getfootballnewsfrance.com)"

If reports are true, Arsenal is in serious trouble of losing both strikers, the Frenchman and captain, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. In recent weeks the club captain has been in the news about his future at the club and has laid down his demands for him to consider staying put.

Lacazette has had a troubled time with injuries and dips in form in certain parts of his Arsenal career since making the move back in 2017. One thing is certain, he hasn’t reached anywhere near the heights of Lyon and the form that saw him afford the switch to North London from France.

Before transferring to England and taking part in the Premier League, Alexandre Lacazette was considered one of the most prolific strikers on the planet. In his eight seasons at the Ligue 1 club, he made 203 appearances, scoring a mammoth 100 goals while adding 21 assists to his name.

His time at Arsenal (three seasons to date) has seen him feature 95 times. In these 95 showings, he has scored 35 goals and assisted a further 15.  This season alone he has only scored 10 goals, most of them coming in the first half of the campaign. His striking partner in 80 matches has made a bigger contribution with 51 goals and 11 assists.

If you had to choose?

If you had to choose between Aubameyang and Lacazette, who would you choose? Hands down it would be the former. If he is making a demand which is asking for £250,000-per-week, then move the French striker on and pay Aubu the money he wants.

A Golden Boot winner versus a player who hasn’t really made a name in the Premier League should be no comparison. Lacazette also has a big attitude and that’s something Mikel Arteta is not willing to deal with in his time of rebuilding the Gunners. Sounds best to cut ties and invest the money in another player.
