The calls for Dean Henderson to be named as United will continue until it happens.

Several days ago, Ole started the first chain of events in the de Gea and Henderson debacle. The Man United boss came forth praising his English stopper who is on-loan to Sheffield United.

Solskjaer stated that the Englishman is set for amazing things and will soon one day be named the first choice for both, Man United and the Three Lions. Oliver Norwood, Man United’s academy coach gave his shout for Henderson and him being ready to be United’s No 1.

More from Premier League

"Definitely, he’s proven himself this season, he’s up there with most clean sheets in the league so he’s obviously doing something right,” Norwood told Sky Sports.I’ve read a few things from different people and I do agree that there would be a lot more pressure on him going and playing as Manchester United’s No 1 rather than Sheffield United’s – the scrutiny he would be under being England’s No 1 as well. The manager enforced his words by stating he is not at the club to keep players happy, and that they would have to pull their weight to earn their spot. We can all pretend this was not directed at the Spaniard, but we all know the manager is calling him out with these words. Following the stern statement, Wilder was chuffed that all parties were in talks for Henderson to extend his stay for another season.

This after already extending his stay till the end of the current season. Talks seem to be dragging but Ole has already stated Henderson has no chance of knocking David off his number one spot for now.

This means Wilder will get his stopper back. But we could see a late change in affairs if David de Gea proceeds to concede goals via errors made, he can start thinking about a possible Man Untied exit, or his spot being taken by Henderson and him only good enough for a backup stopper.

You could see the struggle is real without the Englishman between the sticks for Sheffield when they lost 3-0 to Man United. They will want David de Gea to improve and pull up his sox. They don’t want to lose their star player for the 2019-2020 campaign.
