Does every player in Liverpool’s current squad become a legend of the club? Alisson Becker seems to think so and has thanked Klopp for it.

There is no stopping the Reds’ party. Liverpool’s Premier League title has stopped a curse of 30 years and because of this, the Liverpool stopper feels Jurgen Klopp has made him a Reds’ legend and thanked him for it.

"The maximum respect I can have for a person, I have for him. There’s not many words that I could describe, maybe in Portuguese I can do that better! I will always respect him, have big respect for him, and also be thankful to him for bringing me here and giving me the opportunity to become a legend here for Liverpool. Alisson is not far from the truth and can claim himself to be a legend at the club filled with many legends that have come before him. He, himself has been a major asset to Jurgen Klopp and is one of many reasons the club finally brought home the Premier League gold.

Alisson worth every penny

More from Liverpool FC

Alisson, like Virgil van Dijk, was predicted to be an overpriced hype when he made the switch to Liverpool from AS Roma back in 2018. His transfer fee was £66.8 million, making him the most expensive goalkeeper transfer in the world at the time.

Soon after, that title fell away when Chelsea announced their stopper signing, Kepa Arrizabalaga, for £71.5m. Though, he has been a big disappoint to Chelsea, much like they thought Becker would be in Merseyside. Since he made the move, the improvement in Liverpool’s defence has been dramatically amazing. He’s even made himself valuable in attack.

For back-to-back seasons, Alisson has come and went straight to the top of the chats. Even though they were a point shy in the 2018-19 season and second place to Man City, Alisson managed to keep the most clean sheets with 21 and only conceded 22 goals.

Next. Fitting Chelsea's new signings in. dark

This season, no different. Despite two injuries this term and making as little as 22 EPL appearances, he sits in second place with 12 clean sheets while barely letting in 12. This is what has helped the Reds win the league with seven games to spare, an amazing defence.

Alisson is a legend of Liverpool, and so are the others. It took them 30 years to break the Premier League duck. It has gone down in history.
