Norwich lost yet another game after their FA Cup defeat. What they can count on following this, is a bigger loss in Todd Cantwell.

The Canaries performances have been one of the same when you consider them getting relegated so often. Besides them slipping further behind from the rest of the pack in the Premier League, they now have exited from the FA Cup after a 2-1 loss by the hands of Man United.

The travelling side relied on goals from always true, Odion Ighalo and the most overpriced defender in the world, Harry Maguire. Norwich had a small ray of sunshine shine through the storm coming from Manchester.

That little ray of hope was Todd Cantwell. He not only scored the only goal of the game for Norwich, but it was also the best for the day. A long-range effort from the promising Englishman was the equaliser.

The leveller came in the 75th minute of the game and allowed the Canaries to try to steal something from a fixture where they were out of favour. Sadly, United got the final say of the game and are now through to the final four of the FA Cup.

This is Todd Cantwell’s ninth goal contribution this season across all competitions. In the Premier League, he has six goals and two assists. Funny enough, another four goals or assists, and he would have contributed to half of his side’s goals for the season. They have 25 goals. Says a lot about the different seasons the club and the player has been having.

What has to be expected is the possibility of Norwich losing their best players. Cantwell is a prime example of this. He will unmistakably be on his way out of Carrow Road.

More from Liverpool FC

Cantwell has made heads turn and has kept the Norwich office busy. His performance for the club at the very bottom of the Premier League has stood out above most. Unlike Teemu Pukki, the Englishman has been more consistent when considering form.

His goal against United was one of his best this season but not the only quality he possesses. A pass finder and quite amazing with a ball at his feet. All of these attributes have made him one of the most wanted youngsters in the Premier League.

The usual clubs of Liverpool, Man United and Spurs have all been named as contenders for the player. However, the Reds are the ones being discussed the most, even the fans have been having fun with the rumours and links.

Man United have their attention elsewhere with Jack Grealish as their main target from a team potentially getting relegated. Spurs are far from facts and are just rumours at the moment. However, Jose is in the market for a backup or replacement to Harry Kane.

So they could have their sights set on a more suitable player for the situation coming this summer. Arsenal’s name has popped up and let’s face it, they need to add players to the team on the cheap. He would be a perfect catch for them and a very sensible buy.

He makes the perfect fit for a squad player for a top-six side, with the promise to play for a first-team spot in the future. At £30m he will make good business. Where do you think Cantwell will be next season?
