We are inches away from the English Premier League return. A few minor setbacks on the way but here we are.

There hasn’t been better news than that of English football’s return. The world has been waiting for a long time for this day. Yes, three months are nothing to cry about but you know what they say… You don’t know what you got until it’s missing.

There have been many ups and downs leading to the return of the Premier League. We had to endure the hardships of COVID-19, with some of us still feeling the pain of its aftershock. Slowly but surely we as a worldwide nation will claw our way out of this hole.

Top Premier League news making the rounds

If you didn’t know, there is a national hero for your kids and even you to look up to. He is Man United striker and one of God’s better creations, Marcus Rashford. He is using his voice for a very good cause and it’s been heard by the ones who make the decisions.

Raheem Sterling has been doing his own bit of leadership in the Black Lives Matter movement. The player features alongside some of his teammates in a “change needs to happen, and happen now” video. Hard work really does continue off the pitch.

The other news as important as that of the Rashford and Sterling, the return of football and the double-header happening on Wednesday 17. Arsenal takes a trip for a battle against the current Premier Leauge champions, Man City.

In the other affair, we have a relegation-threatened Aston Villa going up against Sheffield United, who play for the same incentives as the Gunners, European football. All teams restarting the 2019-2020 EPL campaign except Man City has something to play for.

Stranger things happening during the testing. Norwich reported the player that was found positive of COVID-19, tested negative after another test was conducted on the player. Despite the call for concern, Spurs felt it not necessary to carry out extreme quarantine measures, especially with the player showing up negative in the next test.

Newcastle takeover

Newcastle’s takeover is turning into Newcastle’s take forever! Damn this has got to be the slowest sale in the history of sales. The dollar, pound, and the rand have all changed many times already during the time of the potential sale.

According to BBC Sport, the club’s buyout could be stopped by two factors. They could be stopped by the “World Trade Organisation ruling that the country helped breach international piracy laws”. The other, something Richard Masters cannot look past, human rights matters that have been brought up since the inception of the purchase.

David Silva ending on a strong note

Man City and David Silva have agreed on a short-term contract extension that will see him finish the rest of the season with them. He was scheduled to retire at the end of the current campaign. He will have to wait before he can hang up his boots.

Lastly – Klopp’s message to the fans

DON’T GO TO THE FIELD AND STAY AT HOME AND SUPPORT FROM HOME! That”s basically the message in the video. Social distancing still needs to be upheld. The Reds and their fans are going to be watched severely by the rest of the world and league during this restart.

They must resist all temptations to celebrate. They must celebrate in their solitude, which is just sad, but nothing really considering we get have English football back.
