Why Jack Grealish to Manchester United is the perfect move
By Adam Bakr
Exposure and Experience for Grealish
Starting with Jack Grealish, it’s time for him to make the jump to a bigger club. With the exception of a loan move to Notts County in 2013, he has spent his entire youth and senior career with Villa.
Since becoming captain, he led his side to promotion from the Championship last season and has put together a great individual season this year. If Villa is to go down, Grealish is too talented of a player to leave the Premier League. If he helps his side stay up, it would be the perfect note to leave his boyhood club on.
A move to United would…
A move to United would help Grealish in a variety of ways. Firstly, he would get the recognition he deserves. He is not an unknown talent but does not get the same attention as some of the attackers in the top half of the table.
It’s no secret that Manchester United have plenty of exposure, and playing there would be his chance to show his talents in front of a larger audience. Grealish is potentially a PFA Player of the Year type of talent and deserves to be in the running for the award in the future.
He would also have his first opportunity to play in an elite European competition, whether it’s the Champions League or Europa League that United qualifies for.
England call-up on the cards

A possible benefit to the exposure would be getting his spot in the England national team. Despite looking like one of the best English players in the Premier League this season, if not the best, he did not get any call ups for the European Qualifiers. Gareth Southgate talked about this in an interview in November and said it was due to the competition at the position.
"The reality is he’s up against [Raheem] Sterling, [Marcus] Rashford, [Calum] Hudson-Odoi and [Jadon] Sancho in those wide areas.” England National team coach Gareth Southgate. (Check YouTube video at the top of the page for the full press conference of Gareth Southgate)"
The common factor in that list is that all players Southgate mentioned are playing for clubs in European competitions and towards the top of the table in their respective leagues. The move would be Grealish’s chance to make a statement and take full advantage of the European Championships being postponed to the summer of 2021 due COVID-19.
Along with the exposure, the move can help his development. He’ll be playing in bigger games and be surrounded by better players. The experience will help him grow and he would not be required to do as much at United for the team’s success.
