The Timo limited offer for under £50m has 12 days remaining before it dissolves. What’s the Reds’ move now?
The report from Sky Sports suggests the Reds, Man United, and other competitors have 12 days remaining for a Timo Werner cut price. However, we all know, there is one team really exhausting time here, and that’s Liverpool.
"The Germany international striker’s €55m (£49m) release clause at RB Leipzig runs out on Monday, June 15. Werner’s first-choice destination is still Liverpool but the Premier League leaders are not willing to pay the release clause in the current climate.Chelsea and Manchester United have also held talks about signing the 24-year-old. Werner wants to move to a Champions League club, where he will play regularly. (Via: Sky Sports)"
The team from Merseyside have already received an open invitation from the club and from the player but have only ever initiated talks with him, nothing more. It is almost upsetting to see a team take this long to attain a top talent. But there is always a method behind Michael Edwards’ madness. We just never know what it is.
Mauro Icardi the spanner

Kaveh Solhekol and Max Bielefeld explain in this one why exactly Liverpool need to rush in the purchase of the forward. Icardi has been a subject of a permanent move out of the San Siro ever since being stripped of the captaincy and moving on loan to PSG.
A week ago the named Ligue 1 champions made their first formal move with an offer of €50M (£45m) + €10M (£8.9m) in add-ons for the forward. Inter rejected and countered the offer, asking for an improved amount of €57m (£51.2m). Obviously, the Parisians accepted this with a smile, despite the world going into meltdown and having quite the crippled economy.
This has thrown a spanner in the works. He will now be the benchmark in the transfer market for players his age and younger. “Werner is three years younger than Icardi and, if the Argentine is the benchmark, then Leipzig is unlikely to let Werner go for less than £50m.”
Since returning he has been red hot!
Whatever deal Liverpool can strike with RB Leipzig they must act with pace! The price will certainly increase and Leipzig is smiling because of this and the fact he has been in red hot form. He has scored four in the four fixtures since the Bundesliga’s returned, with a hat-trick coming in one of the latter two showings.
This could mean; Liverpool goes in now before the 12-day clock runs out, or they pull out altogether. With Leipzig’s 4-2 win over FC Köln, they are putting up a valiant fight for Champions League football.
This could solve the Reds problem and he could end up staying for another season. As long as he performs, he will make the German national side for EURO 2021. As long as he gets picked, he will be happy to stay and wait for Liverpool. PSG, in essence, has raised the bar.
