Philippe Coutinho’s rumoured move to Stamford Bridge could be over before the transfer window even opens. Frank Lampard now sees wonderkid Kai Havertz as his priority signing.

One week, Timo Werner, the next Jadon Sancho. Then it was Philippe Coutinho, now its the next, Kai Havertz. The German has been impressive with a couple of great performances since the German Bundesliga has returned back to action, post COVID-19.

The enchanting playmaker has made it near impossible to miss a minute of him playing ball on the pitch. He has shown how smart he is with the ball at his feet and how destructive he is in front of goal.

Thanks to this, the list for possible Kai suitors has increased rapidly and has put Chelsea in the race. Frank Lampard is said to be a big admirer of the 20-year-old and sees him as the perfect placement to take his youthful Chelsea to the next step.

What does this mean for Philippe Coutinho

What does this mean for Barcelona’s outcast and little magician? It means he could be out of favour and a Premier League return will remain a vivid dream. Coutinho’s name has been talked about the most.

He has fallen down the order at the Spanish club. Adding to the failure to succeed, his current employees (Bayern Munich) do not want to extend his stay, refusing to make his deal permanent. Almost no top club wants to pay Barca’s asking price or pay his high wage demand.

Next. Who will win the race for the most improved EPL player. dark

He is, quite frankly, out of luck. He should be praying night and day to the football gods for a Havertz to Liverpool transfer. If the Reds pull off the signing of Klopp’s long-term target, then a move for Coutinho will be back on the cards for Chelsea.
