Chris Wilder says he will not stop his boys’ decision to not play if they feel unsafe to restart amid the COVID-19 pandemic. This in light of the Premier League’s preparation to resume soon with “Project Restart” on its way.

There has been a lot of debate as lockdown restrictions ease up in specific regions of the world. The COVID-19 pressures still hinder life from returning to total normality. Due to the high risks of still being able to contract the virus today, some clubs’ players are hesitant to take the pitch.

No matter the decision made, there will never be 100% of people voting in favour of it. You will undoubtedly get a 50/50 split or 60/40 split, and so on, and so on. The fact of the matter is, you cannot please them all.

When the Coronavirus disaster halted kickoffs around the globe times were so unpredictable, with there being little to no hope we will ever have football again. This because of the health and safety of fans plus the players.

More from Premier League

Thankfully, the human race strives to survive. With more restrictions measures taken during a period we not sure it will succeed, English football has taken on a tone new rules in a bid to get games going. We should stop using the term normal as we far away from anything normal.

There will be no normal till the day we’ve probably been able to herd individual immunity, or we have a working vaccine, and maybe even the cure. But until then, people, professionals, everyone worldwide are dubious about the situation.

Chris Wilder defends his players

Wilder tries to defend his team as adequately as they’ve defended his results all season long in the Premier League. The team who has something to gain from a restart of the 2019-2020 campaign has some players sceptical about playing in these difficult times.

"If any individual player took that decision and came to me and said, “It’s not for me”, I’d respect that. One of the slightly disappointing things is that people have taken a line on their position in the division. I think we’ve got to look at the bigger picture."

Not a soul can complain about their stance on the situation, as taking the field to play 90 minutes of football under stiff COVID-19 law makes the game almost near impossible to play.

He still is in favour of finishing the season

On the positive, the English surprise package wants to finish the season regardless of the time, just as long as they get to conclude the 2019-2020 term. As per reports, the implications are more detrimental to teams from top to bottom, therefore ending it with a winner and a trio of losers is the only option.

"I think we finish the season, however long it takes. The Premier League has shown enormous enthusiasm. My chief exec is [showing enormous enthusiasm], and not just because we’re in the position that we are. I think everybody that is in the know understands the implications if this season was scrapped. (Via: Sky Sports)"

FA – shots fired

As per major outlets across England, the FA has warned against clubs not wanting to play. They will be docked points if they do not take the pitch and are unwilling to end Premier League operations.

This statement is quite the contradiction to the aforementioned of the players’ protection. If the players’ health comes first, why are they being threatened by the FA? The world as we know it is an unkind place.
