Liverpool is said to be showing a strong interest in Adama Traoré. If true, is the Spanish Hulk needed over at Anfield and how can he benefit Klopp’s team?

Traoré has really improved as an overall player over the last couple of seasons while in England. We can see why Jurgen Klopp would be an admirer of the player and why England’s top club would be fascinated by him.

He can play in multiple positions, he’s physically strong, lightning-quick, and skilful, which ticks all the boxes for the playing style of a potential Liverpool player. The most important attribute that would mostly interest Jurgen is his ability to track back.

More from Liverpool FC

Liverpool’s lack of depth in the wider areas is left wanting at times, and if Liverpool is to compete on all fronts next season to acquire even more silverware they need to bolster their attack. Scraping through by one goal is clearly not going to work for an entire season.

They boast the best defensive team in the Premier League for the past two seasons. Adding quality upfront is not just about finding the best attacker. Players must possess similar qualities as Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane, who steals the ball back effortlessly as forwards.

Adding to Klopp’s dilemma next season is the African Cup of Nations. Should the African Cup of Nations continue as planned in 2021 and clash with the EPL, Liverpool would be without, Sadio ManéMohamed Salah and Naby Keïta, which leaves a massive hole in Liverpool’s attack.

A place for Traoré

The great thing about Adama Traoré is that he has experience playing in England’s Top Flight and has proven himself to be an excellent player while seemingly always improving. His direct, trickier play with the ball at his feet and not, is the attraction and what Liverpool looks for in players.

He has scored six goals and provided 10 assists so far this season. Traoré is a winger that cuts in from the left, but seeing that Mohamed Salah occupies that spot it will be a tough call to make as Traoré wouldn’t want to come off the bench when he has a starting spot playing under Nuno Santo.

With Xherdan Shaqiri being a bit-part player and on his way out to Turkey perhaps. Also, Adam Lallana‘s contract expires at the end of the season with one-year renewal being denied by the player, increasing the chances of playing time for Traoré.

Jurgen Klopp’s options are minimal when it comes to wide players or wingers, having just Divock Origi and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain left to fill in those positions. Let’s not forget Takumi Minamino, he can also be used as a winger but so far Klopp has preferred to use him in a false 9 position.

With all that said, Wolves have slapped a massive price tag on Adama Traoré’s head of £70m. This is enough to make the board of Liverpool hesitate in acquiring his services. A price tag this high should surely see him start the majority of matches.

Next. Throwback Thursday: The Magic of Michu. dark

He cost more than any of the three regular starters in the team. Not the business Liverpool is renowned for. However, the manager wants to bridge the gap between the players on the pitch and the ones on the bench. Stricken the quality gap between them.

Is Traoré that player to start the new trend for Liverpool.
