Ryan Fraser will be on the move when his contract expires in the summer, with Arsenal and Liverpool said to be big favourites in the race for his signature… Again.

The Gunners need to work on their squad during the summer, adding some new faces to the ranks. They need to add players who are willing to fight for first-team football. On the other hand, the Reds are looking for backups to their already elite frontline.

The duo has been previously mentioned with Fraser in the January and September windows ere to this one, however, nothing ever materialised back then. Move on a season and the player never looked set on signing a new deal with the Vitality club.

A move away from the south coast side appeared to be on the cards for a while. This considering he was not eager to recommit to the club for another few more years, making it hard to understand why Bournemouth didn’t act quicker in a sale of him and a purchase of someone else.

More from Arsenal

Not the business Eddie Howe and his club are identified for in the past with this one. But nothing is ever straightforward in football, especially with transfer business.

Fraser’s contribution to Bournemouth

With all these key factors established it’s hard to digest why the Cherries wouldn’t offload, yet, when you check his numbers in goal contributions, the winger has been one of the most reliable to the club and in the league for the preceding seasons.

He has been a key component for the Cherries since their Premier League debut back in 2016. He has always improved with each season that he has played in the league, with his best season coming last season. He has seen a bit of a dip in form of recent just before the campaign shut down until further notice.

In 130 outings for Bournemouth, he has scored 16 goals and further aided others with 26 assists. His most prominent (seven goals and 14 assists) tally last season saw him help Howe to his highest Premier League finish (ninth place).

This displays how well he has done following his arrival to the big stage. It also proves how much a team like Arsenal could use his qualities to help push for top four, as well as how Liverpool could use his powers coming off from the bench if they need delivery on a golden platter.

Best destination – Arsenal or Liverpool?

So the rundown goes as follows in one sentence… First-team opportunities are ripe within the Gunners’ camp, whereas with Liverpool it would be the best for your career to work under Jurgen Klopp.

That’s what you as a player must decide if you had these two majestic clubs after you. At 26-years-old, he should be looking to go to a bigger club in England now. Liverpool would probably get the best version out of him while he will be relied on to assist get Arsenal back to the top.

Problem with the Reds, he doesn’t come in as the second choice. No, he comes in as number three, four, or five. Liverpool’s project is the best with Arteta bringing a certain swag back to the Emirates. So I would say Arsenal is the best destination for the Scotland international.
