Neymar is being linked with a return to Barcelona in a big-money move. If so, where does this leave Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who is a target for the Catalan side as well?

Another transfer window coming up but the same news persists. Neymar is the subject of a return to Spain once again while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang finds himself a priority target for Barcelona.

Besides the La Liga club being named, Inter Milan, Man United, and Liverpool are all assumed to be interested in the forward’s signature. So the real question is… Are they (Barca) able to get both men or are they going to have to choose one or the other?

More from Arsenal

The in-form forward has been on Barcelona’s radar since last summer, but with Neymar refusing to sign a new PSG contract, the Brazilian looks Barcelona bound.  As per Top Flight Site Expert, Mahith, he believes the Gunners must start prepping for life without Aubameyang.

Inter Milan looks a likely destination for Aubameyang as they seek to replace the outgoing Lautaro Martínez (22), which is also a possible Barcelona target. Inter has set a price tag of £100m and insist they want a “cash only” deal.

At 30 years of age, Aubameyang is still doing what he does best, he’s scoring goals. With 17 goals to his name so far, he lies two goals behind the top spot, with the potential to surpass Jamie Vardy (19), and retain the Golden Boot.

Arsenal would be reluctant to sell their top goalscorer and club captain to a rival like Man United, but this is not the first time they would do business. Robin van Persie is a prime example of United’s business strategy.

Ideally, Arsenal should retain his services as they would surely like to compete for some silverware next season, due to a rather disappointing 2019/2020 season.

Arsenal’s lying in ninth place, currently eight points short off of 4th place, and may conceivably lose out on a Champions League spot for next season. A player of his calibre wants to compete at the highest level and this wiil be a deciding factor for Pierre-Emerick whether he decides to stay or leave the Gunners.

If he (Aubameyang) does put in a transfer request, there won’t be a shortage of suitors. The Gunners captain has the experience and the quality that most top European teams would want, and this includes the Spanish giants Barcelona.

If Neymar and Lautaro Martínez does join Barcelona in the next transfer window, Inter Milan would be the better option for Aubameyang as he would get more game time. It seems more than likely that he will leave Arsenal in the next transfer window.
