Premier League restart date pushed back to April 30 – League run will be extended
All English football will be suspended until April 30. Many clubs throughout the league have cancelled training while others resume if business is back to normal.
The Premier League have announced they are not taking any risk amid COVID-19 protocols and are not in a rush to complete the current campaign, although, concluding it will be arranged. As it stands now the league will commence “indefinitely”.
This is said to be a unanimous decision by all clubs involved, emphasising on the importance of public safety as of the highest priority. Worryingly, the end of April is seen as an ambitious return date for English football, suggesting a later date will come into play. But this also comes as no surprise, as the Coronavirus must still peak in England, as per Bryan Swanson.

It was first announced UEFA would like all domestics leagues completed by June 1. However, this time limit has been modified and are said to be rather flexible during the time of this unique matter and crisis the world is undergoing.
Due to the unpredictable nature of the widespread coronavirus pandemic, dates cannot be confirmed as final dates, nor does the Premier League have enough answers for clubs to make more solid decisions based on the current campaign.
Player affairs
There’s nothing to worry about as per Sky Sports. There have been discussions on players contracts and registration. FIFA officials will consider being lenient towards such affairs heading into next season.
There have even been suggestions of rolling contracts of 6-12 months for players who were in the final stages of their current deals, set to expire in the summer.
Some Premier League clubs’ situations
Some EPL clubs have stopped training, with intentions of restarting between the dates of the 23rd to the 30th of this month. Jose’s Spurs continued their training today as if it was a normal day at the office. However, they got the Wednesday off.
Liverpool players have shown up at different times at training. Another measure taken in a bid to help slow down the spread of COVID-19 with crowd control. United also continue to monitor the situation at the top, waiting for a safer period to recall the boys to full training.
