Yet another match where Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s Man United drop points at Old Trafford. What once was the Theatre of Dreams is now the Asylum of Nightmares.

Man United, for the second time this Premier League campaign, has shared the points with Wolves. The stalemate and the point according to each saw both clubs drop down in the EPL standings in their quest for football on Europe’s biggest stage.

Ole lost his fifth place to Jose Mourinho, who deserved it following a massive victory over Pep’s men. Sheffield jumped into sixth, knocking the duo Manchester and Wolves into seventh and eighth, respectively.

United’s game against Wolves was far from boring, even though no goals came from a fixture that saw 11 goals in its previous six. Both teams were extremely wasteful in front of goal and was ultimately the story of the night.

This is the first time the pair have failed to score in this fixture since Wolves rejoined England’s Top Flight. The Wanderers have really been tough opponents to the Red Devils. United have only beaten them once in the six meetings with Nuno’s men, across all competitions.

Bruno Fernandes got straight into the thick of things at Old Trafford, after just making his big-money to the club of his dreams 48 hours prior to the game. Sadly he couldn’t register his first goal contribution and help his new club stop a run of three games without a win.

He was their biggest threat going forward. He recorded the most shots for United and hit the most on the night with five shots at goal. Proves he has one thing on his mind and that is to score.

Yet, the problem was not the performance for Solskjaer

More from Manchester United

If the result wasn’t bad enough for all of Manchester. The manager’s post-match interview was enough to make one wonder. Wonder, does this man really know what he is doing? The manager popped a joke about the groundsman saying, “I think the ground staff must have moved the goal, half a yard by the way.”

WHAT! Wait, no. The groundsmen are to blame for Man United not being clinical in front of goal? Not the fact they had a shot on target rate of 31.25%, only hitting the target 5 times of the 16 shots taken?

Was it not due to the fact, the dependence on Marcus Rashford has left them in this critical condition? Is not the fact a lethal goalscorer in Romelu Lukaku was not properly replaced? This was just honestly the worst comment I have probably heard (Even if it was a joke).

Klopp has been criticised for using the pitch and the wind as excuses. Making a gesture that the groundsmen moved the poles is whole another level of weird things to see in a post-match interview. It leaves the impression that the boss’ river of excuses is running dry.

Manchester must be disappointed they’ve now dropped more points at home, and against a club fighting for the same European spots. They’ve lost two at Old Trafford against teams Crystal Palace and Burnley. Adding to this, they’ve shared points with the opposition on five occasions, winning only six times at Old Trafford this season.

Next. Arsenal need to ditch Lacazette and Ozil. dark

That’s 16 points dropped from the 39 available at home. It’s simple to judge a couple of more mishits in their league campaign, and the Europa League is again their only way back into the Champions League for next season.
