Sheffield United 0-1 Man City

Only one game concluded with a winner and a loser. That fixture was the tight, hard-fought clash between the Premier League champions Man City, and surprise package, Sheffield United. Man City’s only goal scored through the reliable source of Sergio Aguero was just enough to claim three points.

The second-best defensive team in the league kept the best-attacking team down to one goal. The Blades now sit in a position they could lose their spot to those sitting two or three points below them (which are six clubs hot on their heels). City, on the other hand, has opened the point-gap to six points between themselves and Leicester City.

They pray night and day Liverpool loses some points on their way, somehow, someway.

Chelsea 2-2 Arsenal

More from Arsenal

An amazing comeback by the Gunners to steal a point from their London rivals, Chelsea. Arteta used his Pep skills when he utilized Granit Xhaka as makeshift centre half, after going a man down.

Mustafi madness set the tone for the rest of the match. From the spot, the Brazilian-Italian Jorginho was clinical from the spot. Controversy followed after the halftime break, along with the last three goals, which was coupled with many great moments. A London derby not to forget anytime soon!

Tough to pick which goal among Gabriel Martinelli’s solo goal, César Azpilicueta clinical put-in, to Héctor Bellerín‘s finessed curler putting Kepa’s price tag into question again, is the best of the lot. They have now effectively opened the door for Man United and Wolves to close the gap on fourth place.

A win for either of the duo mentioned, sees them close the hole between them and the Blues to three points again. Arsenal taking their games in slow strides under new management.

Everton 2-2 Newcastle

Just when you thought Everton could not come up with a new to spoil a good thing, they go and lose a two-goal advantage with only two minutes or so left in extra time. Do you commend Newcastle for never giving up and scoring two quickfire goals?

Or do you laugh your backside off for how poor a team must be to lose a two-goal lead just before the final whistle gets blown? I’m going with the latter in this plot. God bless Florian Lejeune for his superfast brace after only being on the pitch for 20 plus minutes.

Carlo Ancelotti must be thinking, what has he inherited with this Merseyside club. While Steve Bruce went to bed smiling.
