Most of Tuesday night’s matches affected the relegation battle. The Cherries slump is finally over after a convincing 3-1 victory at home against a Potter side able to beat some top teams in the EPL.

Goals from Liverpool loanee, Harry Wilson and Callum Wilson, plus an own goal in between the Wilsons’ go-ahead and winner was enough to see out an Aaron Mooy consolation goal.

More from Arsenal

Southampton’s victory has put loads of pressure on West Ham to perform later this evening when they travel to a struggling Leicester City. Since the turn of the year, the Saints’ have only lost three games of the 10 played, winning six of them.

They climbed up straight to ninth from 13th place in the EPL standings. Aston Villa did an amazing job to take themselves out of drop zone, placing Watford back in the hot waters. That relegation battle waited till the embers of the game to grant a winner between the challengers.

Two goals scored on either end of the pitch. A first-half goal by captain Troy Deeney was later cancelled out in the second half by Douglas Luiz in the 68th minute.

Pearson’s usually sturdy defence was caught out and Ezri Konsa Ngoyo/Tyrone Mings got the winning goal from long range (How this goal was handed to Mings is above me).
