English Premier League: A big London derby to kickstart Matchday 24
Everton vs. Newcastle
Steve Bruce will challenge Carlo Ancelotti for the second time this season, even though the Italian has just rejoined the Premier League. Should be an interesting prospect as both managers do not adapt quite attractive football but rather two men after results by any means necessary.
While Everton returns to action off the back of a draw, Newcastle returns full of confidence following a late, late victory over Chelsea. He will be looking to apply the same game plan in this one. No football until the 90th minute of the game then pounces on the team doing all the shooting and passing, which should be Everton in this one.
Match Prediction
Everton 2-0 Newcastle
Crystal Palace vs. Southampton
These opponents are doing so well, they could cancel each other out in their encounter. Both teams showing great form, consistency, and are sitting outside of the drop spot.
The home side sitting more comfortably than the visitors. Hence the reasons why the job is far from over for Ralph Hasenhüttl and his Saints. A win here would prove the last month was not a fluke and it gives the Saints maximum points in this fixture. 4-6 points, if they take it.

Same goes for Roy and his Eagles. Who let’s face it, has been the better of the two over a lengthier term. Strange enough, Southampton has won more games (8) than Crystal Palace (7).
Match Prediction
Crystal Palace 2-1 Southampton
Bournemouth vs. Brighton
It has gone from good to bad, to worse, to almost unheard of over at the Vitality Stadium. Eddie Howe’s Cherries sit second-last in the Premier League standings.
They have only won two games in their last 17 EPL fixtures, winning none of their last six. They’ve only collected one point from the 18 played for. Brighton will be relishing this shot to get another three points against Bournemouth.
Three points to avoid being involved in this gripping relegation battle. They have been the better of the lot fighting for survival, as they’ve avoided the bottom three slots for a large part of the season.
But their three points adrift from 18th place is no reason to get excited for Potter. He needs his boys to perform as they did against Spurs for a long stretch, in order to feel some sort of insurance.
