A player’s name at the summit of every top club’s list is Timo Werner, and now in the most recent turn of events, he has surfaced as a top target for the Spanish giants, Real Madrid.
It seems the Blues have not stepped up their pursuit of the prolific goalscorer. This, after being heavily linked with him. According to reports, they were the front-runners following Liverpool’s exit from the race for the player.

Players are never safe from Real Madrid
Madrid was one of the busiest sides from the Spanish La Liga last transfer window. Judging by the way things are looking in their current campaign, they are not happy with what they got and are looking for new names to join the reinstated, Zinedine Zidane.
The Frenchman is keen on bringing in more firepower, even though he has already added Eden Hazard and Luka Jović last summer. The two have been considered big failures, with the latter making 17 appearances for Los Blancos and only scoring once.
The former Chelsea man has only contributed to three goals in his time at the club. He has also made as little as 13 appearances for the team who sits on the same points as Barcelona, but take second place on goal difference.
This calls for Timo Werner
Timo Werner has simply been lethal in front of goal. He has helped RB Leipzig to first place in the German Bundesliga standings, already scoring 23 goals while assisting seven across all competitions.
In the league campaign alone he has contributed to 24 goals in 17 games for Leipzig. It would be hard for them to get him to leave the German outfit in the midst of their title run. I’d say, they’d stand a good chance if they are wait till the end of the season.
Now during the January transfer window, it might be a big problem to convince him to come over to the Bernabéu. For now, the Premier League snub is real and no team from the English league is in for him.
