Premier League: Can West Ham hit the Gunners while they’re down
What West Ham United will show up? What Arsenal will show up? Both teams still under a lot of pressure from the fans and need a result from this encounter.
The two clubs who really haven’t lived up to their predictions at the start of the season are the Hammers and the Gunners. One club recently parting ways with their manager. While the other hangs on with intermitted displays.
Arsenal’s problems appear to go beyond the sacking of Unai Emery. Of the clubs changing hands, the Gunners are the only team unable to change their fate. Spurs found a groove under the now “Humble One”, Jose Mourinho.
Everton separated from Marco Silva and immediately hit the ground running under stand-in Duncan Ferguson. Even Watford put together a draw and stole a point while new manager Nigel Pearson watched on from the stands.

What can West Ham do?
West Ham sits a point above the relegation spot in 16th place on 16 points. The Hammers have one win the last nine with their last outing a 2-0 loss to Wolves at the Molineux Stadium. Afore that was a hard-fought and narrow 1-0 victory against Chelsea.
The last time out in the Olympic Stadium a 1-0 ballgame was all that was needed to take all the spoils against tonight’s opponents. Pellegrini’s home stat is one that still stands against him as they risk losing three home games back-to-back for the first time since August 2015.
The East Londoners have been one of the poorest teams in front of goal also, having only scored 17 goals across the 15 Matchdays. So can the Hammers hit the Gunners while they are down? Well… It will be more like a sideways kick rather than a hit. They too are down, but have seen recent success compared to their guests tonight.
Arsenal continue their worst EPL run
Freddie Ljungberg gears up for his third game in charge and on a run of zero for two. No wins and a single draw to show for.
This brings to surface one thing for Arsenal, that is they will resume their search for a new boss to take charge of the club. Arsenal’s defence has been one of the worst this season. They’ve only managed two clean sheets all season.
They’ve also endured 23 goals. That’s a couple short of half the total they let in last season. Eleventh placed Freddie still possesses one of the most lethal front-lines in the league. Having them outscore their opponents will be the only option.
They will never stop an attack well enough with the likes of David Luis in the centre-back pairing. This must be considered by the Swedish manager. If they do not take all the points, it will be seven without a win.
