West Ham vs. Tottenham: How will Jose do in his first test against Pellegrini
Jose Mourinho’s first match as the new Spurs boss is also the first of Matchday 13 in the Premier League. How will he fare against a struggling West Ham side?
Jose Mourinho’s loud and abrupt re-introduction continues to flood the media as he preps for his inauguration match with his new club to take on their first test together. They travel to the east of London, to the Olympic Stadium in search of three points important to both sides.
Manual Pellegrini has endured a tough time with his Hammers, but this due to them being a victim of their own demise. Showing quality in form for the first part of the campaign, sitting in the top half of the standings, only to fail miserably after a bad run of games.
We all know, the worst time to come up against a team struggling is when they’ve recently switched management. The game is set up to be one of the best the weekend. This based purely on the pair’s form and that Jose is back.

Can West Ham give Jose a rude welcome?
Can West Ham give Jose a rude welcome? The answer is yes. But! It depends on what Hammers will turn up to the match. This and because they took all the points in the last meeting at the new Tottenham Stadium last season.
Though, it doesn’t really matter where this West Ham side plays. Their form on the road and at home has left Pellegrini in the hot seat, and rightfully so. The Hammers haven’t won a game in their last six matches, having lost five of the last seven they’ve played.
West Ham’s last win came when they took on a cripple Man United. At first, it appeared that the win was one of many. Yet, as the match weeks wore on, it seems more and more like a fluke.
Mourinho must win
Spurs are winless in their last 12 away games. If Mourinho wants to state a claim, a draw is simply not good enough. What’s important for the “Special One”, he starts events with a victory on his first day in charge.
He can apply pressure to the other three points ahead of him. A victory would put Spurs in 5th place in the standings of the Premier League. At this point, it doesn’t really matter what the rest of the league does, but Jose must get the three points.
It will set Spurs up for a good start under their new manager and set the record straight for both Spurs and Mourinho. The new man at the helm wants to bring back the “spark” before anything else. This displays the pressure is off and now they will just be finding their feet.
