Top Picks

Raheem Sterling (MID, 12.1m, Wolves at home)

This does depend on how City fare in midweek and, crucially, how many minutes everyone gets, but with Sterling rested against Watford I can’t see him being dropped, especially with the KDB injury. He got back on the scoresheet against Everton (thank you goal-line technology) and has looked dangerous even during his back-to-back blanks. I’m still backing Sterling to be one of the top points scorers in the game, and this week against a tired Wolves side he could bag a few more goals.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (FWD, 11.0m, Bournemouth at home)

Amazingly, Aubameyang is yet to blank this year and yet he has not risen even 0.1m in price! He has 7 goals and 1 assist, only failing to score against Liverpool. Arsenal has a great run of games coming up and if I was “wildcarding” today I would want him in. There’s no chance of him being rested while Lacazette is injured and he is Arsenal’s saviour every single week. This week he faces Bournemouth who, as I mentioned above, CANNOT DEFEND.

Bernardo Silva (MID, 7.9m, Wolves at home)

Yes, I’m choosing 2 Man City players, but I really think they are going to have a field day against Wolves (another side struck by the curse of mid-table sides on a Europa League adventure). Silva was the main beneficiary when KDB spent much of last season in the physio room and I expect it to be the same for the next few weeks as his teammate recovers from a groin strain.
