If you still in doubt about Liverpool and their ability. Then look no further for explanations as Alisson Becker and defender Virgil van Dijk has been racking up accolades.

It was a Red show and Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi came to watch. Liverpool’s success and European supremacy have not gone unnoticed. The number one stopper was gifted with the best goalkeeper award, and it is rightfully deserving.

Alisson’s short time at Anfield has been overly rewarding. But it doesn’t come with poor performances or while sitting on the bench. The club from Merseyside has established themselves as the second-best team in England and the best team in Europe.

More from Liverpool FC

This was only manageable with the inclusion of the defensive duo, Goalkeeper Alisson and world-class defender, Virgil van Dijk. Since the two has been added to the first team, which they walked straight into, the two has turned Liverpool’s defence from the worst in the Premier League to one of the best, if not, the best defensive unit.

Alisson’s first season as a Red

He has now taken the award for best goalkeeper in the Champions League. He did so by keeping six clean sheets from the 13 games played by the Reds. He also made the most saves in a Champions League Final (8) against Spurs, which they collected gold in. No other keeper has made more in the history of the tournament.

Other than this, he collected three Golden Glove awards for most clean sheets in the Premier League (32), Champions League (6) and the Copa America, where he only conceded a single goal. His move to Anfield, Liverpool have been showered with brilliant displays and awards deservingly followed.

The Reds miss him already but they have survived

Jurgen Klopp and his Liverpool squad have undoubtedly missed the presence of Alisson on the pitch and in between the sticks. A bad timing injury has proven to be a major problem with Simon Mignolet departed from the club and newcomer Adrian a bit of error king.

Nevertheless, Liverpool has marched on proudly and firmly, after picking up maximum points in their first three fixtures and it must be said, the defence has caused calls for concern. The return of the Liverpool goalkeeper could not come any sooner.

Next. No Chris Smalling and only Phil Jones. dark

The Reds are the only team to win all their opening Premier League matches, sit on top of the table, as well as one of two teams to bring home silverware. Not bad while your first-choice goalkeeper is sidelined.
