English Premier League: Everton travels to Aston Villa in Friday Night Football
It’s the first of Matchday 3 in the English Premier League with Everton taking a short trip to Villa Park to take on Aston Villa. Who’s taking the three points later this evening?
The couple who were probably the two busiest clubs in the transfer window meet later this evening. Aston Villa finding things difficult as they try to find their feet on their return to Top Flight football. Everton, improving with each game as the weeks go on.
Funny enough, tonight’s Friday night matchup is the most played fixture in Premier League history. It will be the 203rd meeting between the old duo. Following their historical count is Everton vs. Liverpool (200 meetings) and then Arsenal vs. Everton (196 meetings)
In recent years the home side hasn’t seen any joy from the fixture and has only taking spoils from two of the last 15 outings versus the Toffees. With the way things are looking in these early stages for the Villians, Everton could be walking away with all the points after the final whistle.
Thankfully for Villa, they get another go in front of their home crowd and hopefully it will be third time lucky, maybe pulling off a home win in their third Premier League match.

Aston Villa in their struggles
It’s been two games and no points for the Villians. They’ve managed to let in more than what they’ve been able to score. Two goals for and five against. They sit on the jetty with their feet dangling just above the shark-infested waters, in the relegation zone.
What stands in favour of the Lions (something they need to keep at the back of their minds in this encounter) Villa have won more Premier League games (18) and scored more goals (68) than they have against any other English side in the EPL.

Everton’s improving run of games
They will make tough visitors later this evening. Marco Silva has been called out for his defensive problems and probably got away with a penalty in their previous Premier League fixture. But nothing can be said about their attacking options and how good they have been going forward.
The Toffees also head into this match as the most lethal team in front of goal, scoring two or more in each of their last eight, taking on the hosts. They’ve scored 22 goals in total, their longest and best run against a single team.
They really just have to be more clinical in front of goal with their shots at goal. They were able to unleash 12 shots with only two hitting the target. The one shot on target was also the only goal of the game against Watford. Crazy thing is, Aston Villa managed to bang out 22 shots at goal last weekend against Bournemouth, with seven hitting the target and scoring a single.
