If reports are true that Chelsea and Real Madrid have settled in their Eden Hazard standoff? Then Los Blancos have pulled off a major steal in a ruthless transfer market.

It is being reported by The Guardian, Real Madrid has forced Chelsea to crack under negotiations for their most valuable asset. The fee set is at a cut-price of £88.5m (€100m). That’s a whopping £41.5m less than the Blues valuation of the player of £130m.

In a time where demands for players are set high, an unproven 18-year-old could cost you £88m. Real Madrid has pulled off some crazy deals in the past, and this will join the ranks right at the very top.

The Guardian goes onto say the deal for the Belgian will be announced in the next few days, following the news of the fee that is now in place.

"Hazard said after Chelsea won the Europa League final against Arsenal that “I think it is a goodbye, but in football you never know”. At that point Real and Chelsea had not agreed on a fee but on Wednesday night they did with the announcement set to follow in the next few days. The two clubs are now preparing the contracts to be signed. (via The Guardian)"

More from Chelsea

Surprising, not surprising?

The fee casts a shadow in the mind, really. One of the best players in the English Premier League is set to leave a top-six club for near nothing. However, the potent forward has a single year remaining on his London agreement.

It was now or never for Chelsea. They couldn’t risk keeping an unhappy Hazard in the ranks, as well as worry about the thought of him leaving on a free next summer.

Would Real have stalled? They on a massive overhaul of the squad. They would have searched elsewhere perhaps. Nevertheless, they appear to have finally got their mittens on Eden and for an all-time low.

Why is the deal a steal for Los Blancos?

Considering the transfers in the past few windows, this one gives Chelsea the Blues. Paul Pogba, the highest transfer in history at one point at £89m.

Philippe Coutinho, Barcelona’s most expensive signing in their history at £106m. Barely did a damn thing at the Camp Nou.

The list goes on and it wouldn’t take many hours of research to find players with less quality in the world of football today that has switched clubs for more money than Eden Hazard.

Good luck and we will miss you in the English Premier League!
