A promising English youngster’s Premier League chances have faded after news of him leaving the country has increased.

Reece Oxford is to leave West Ham United on a cheap to join up with FC Augsburg. The second youngest Hammer to ever take the pitch in a Premier League match looks set to leave London after reports claimed a £3 million bid was perhaps accepted by West Ham.

What happened to the promise of Reece Oxford?

Since breaking onto The Top Flight scene in the year 2015 for the Hammers, in an inspiring victory over London rivals Arsenal 2-0, Oxford showed loads of promise. ‎Slaven Bilic handed Reece the keys to succeed and it looked as if it was a major hit by the Croatian.

More from Transfers and Rumors

Before the sacking of Bilic, Oxford signed a new contract but enjoyed many spells out on loan from London. During this time Reece disappeared from the big screen and has since not been heard of until now.

That’s if you were not paying close attention to his footballing career.

Reece loves Germany

It’s been loan term after loan term. Besides the Reading 2017 interlude, the defender enjoyed some loan moves to Germany.

Before Augsburg, Reece was on loan to Borussia Monchengladbach in the Bundesliga. This was the season of 2017-18 and he made as little as seven appearances in their league campaign. Not much has changed for the youngster who is now still only the tender age of 20-years-old.

Surprisingly no future at the London Stadium

Funny for Manuel Pellegrini not to give the English youngster a go at the club, despite having the same frailties at the back for the entire 2018-19 campaign. They conceded an immense total of 55 goals for the season.

Although, for the player, this is the best decision after falling off the map. We’ve seen young English players going abroad and making a loud ruckus worldwide. One commonly known as Jadon Sancho.

A top prospect for the biggest clubs in Europe after a stellar campaign with Borussia Dortmund. The West Ham man can follow in his footsteps.
