Will Arsenal be able to outbid Bayern Munich for Nicolas Pepe
Nicolas Pepe is one of the hottest forwards in the French League, Ligue 1. He’s been on quite the remarkable run with second place Lilli.
Back in December, there were strong rumours and links between Nicolas Pepe, Arsenal and Man City. These were the only two English clubs said to be interested in the Ivorian-French forward. This gave the impression one of the English sides were ready to prize away one of the best scoring forwards not playing for PSG in Ligue 1.
The Gunners were unable to make any permanent transfers during the January transfer window. The Emirates side had to settle for one loan deal in Denis Suarez from Barcelona. Man City made no move nor effort to tempt the player to choose the Etihad.
Quite frankly, the Citizens are in no need of help as they wiped the floor with their opponents in the Champions League and are only laying in second place in the Premier League standings by two points with a game in hand. Now it appears both clubs have taken too long and the player could be on route to the German Bundesliga.

The LOSC manager, Christophe Galtier has spoken out previously about the club and their stance on Nicolas Pepe. The club’s aware they cannot hold onto a player of Pepe’s quality and are ready to listen to the right offers.
The manager expressed their financial situation and admitted the club was not one the rich ones out there and a sale would work well for all parties. What the club values the player at, will certainly help the club with substantial funding for other transfers.
Nicolas Pepe stats 2018-2019
- Appearances – 29 (All starts)
- Goals – 17
- Assist – 8
With this being said, it appears Bayern Munich has moved in quickly and are waiting around for anybody to come in and snap up one of the biggest talents in the French League today. A massive bid of £68 million has been tabled by the groß German side, according to Bein Sports.
This has definitely shifted the transfer in their favour. Arsenal would not bid this big or are not willing to. If they keep on players such as Mesut Ozil and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with big salaries, it will become near impossible to sign new players.
Munich’s also on a massive overhaul after their failure to progress past Liverpool in the Champions League, as well as struggled in the first part of the campaign. They are in sure need of fresh faces and new names.
It’s safe to say… Nicolas Pepe will more likely be a Munich man come the summer. The only club able to stop this and said to be in for the nippy forward is Man United. They will be able to match any bid laid out on the table.
