Transfer news: Piotr Zielinski gets linked to Arsenal in £60 million move
An old name pops up in the transfer mill again. A once Liverpool target becomes a big money move for Arsenal. The latest out of the Gunners’ chambers a transfer for Piotr Zielinski could occur in the summer.
Since snubbing Liverpool for a better style of life in Naples, Zielinski has been performing under the radar. He and the side Napoli, have been ever-present in the fight for the Italian Serie A title.
At 24-years-old Zielinski is a usual suspect for the current boss, Carlo Ancelotti. He has featured 34 times this season, across all competitions. During this time he has only scored five goals. Four of them coming in the Serie A, where he’s made most of his appearances for the club.

He and Ancelotti currently fight Juventus for the league title but have fallen far behind in the race. They sit in second place on 56 points, 13 behind Juventus’ 69. They have a crucial first versus second coming the weekend and they will need to win that fixture if they want to put up any sort of fight.
Napoli and Zielinski have 13 games left to play and have all the tools to get the league. But it’s very rarely, the Old Lady slips. If they fail it will be another season the young Polish player will watch another get delivered to Juve and that sometimes, enough is enough. A change at 24-years-old is quite a good time to move on.
Arsenal’s links to Piotr Zielinski
There is a good possibility of this happening in the summer days. Unai is in search of a replacement for Aaron Ramsey next season and Unai likes them young. When Ramsey leaves in the summer and Ozil future is decided (looking likely to follow Ramsey out the door) they will need a new playmaker
This could be a great marriage between the Gunners and Zielinski. At £60 million though? There’s so much the world of football offers better than the Polish. Why are they settling for him? If they are serious about taking him, they should consider a price cut.
However, dealing with the Naples club is torture.
